2022 PROJECTS
These projects were completed during 2022.
Twyford, Hampshire
(8 bells, Tenor 10-2-3 in G)
Three new bells were cast to replace the existing 3rd, 4th and 5th bells. The bells were removed for tuning and re-hung on new fittings in the existing frame.
Great Chishill, Cambridgeshire
(6 bells, Tenor 8-3-6 in A)
A new Treble was cast to augment the ring to six. The five existing bells were removed for rehanging on new fittings in the existing frame, which was strengthened.
Nunnington, North Yorkshire
(3 bells, Tenor 5 CWT in D)
The cracked 2nd bell was specialist weld-repaired, and all three bells were re-hung on new fittings for chiming.
Winterbourne Earls, Wiltshire
(5 bells, Tenor 5-3-9 in A)
The Treble, 2nd, 3rd and Tenor bells were re-tuned and all five were turned and re-hung on new fittings in the existing frame.
Bubwith, East Riding of Yorkshire
(6 bells, Tenor 7-3-24 in A)
The bells were re-hung on new fittings in the existing bell frame.
Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire
(12 +1 bells, Tenor 15-0-17 in E)
The former Treble 2nd and 4th bells were removed from the ring. Six new bells were cast to augment the ring to 12 and a sharp 2nd, the former 3rd, becoming the 6th bell. The bells were tuned and hung in a new cast iron bell frame with new ringing fittings.
Canterbury Cathedral
(12 +2 bells, Tenor 34-3-4 in C#)
Major maintenance work was carried out including the replacement of some bearings.
Alfriston, East Sussex
(6 bells, Tenor 8-1-16 in A)
The bells were tuned and rehung on new fittings in the existing bell frame. A disused bell was welded and rehung as a service bell. We also installed a set of rope guides.
Creeksea, Essex
(1 bell)
The single bell was rehung with new chiming fittings.
Eastnor, Herefordshire
(6 bells, Tenor 6-3-9 in A)
The bells were re-tuned and re-hung on new fittings in the existing steel frame. The Tenor was replaced, and the old bell kept in use by the clock. The Sanctus bell was also rehung.
Belton, Lincolnshire
(5 bells, Tenor 8-3-5 in G#)
The Treble, 2nd and Tenor bells have been re-tuned and all five have been turned and re-hung on new fittings in the existing frame.
Belmont Abbey, Herefordshire
(9 bells, Tenor 18CWT in approx. E)
Electromagnetic hammers were fitted to the bells and the control unit programmed to chime various tunes and service bells throughout the day.
